Hebrews 10:10 in accordance with the will of God we have been made holy through the offering made once and for all by our Lord Jesus Christ that we be cleansed, consecrated and sanctified. Holiness is about sanctification which means we are set apart to be holy, separated for God from evil deeds. 1 Peter 1:2.
Purity of heart is important as a believer. Jesus says only the pure in heart can see God. Matthew 5:8. What you think and do is a reflection of your heart.
Purity is the inward holiness of the heart while cleanliness is the outward reconditioning of the flesh. Holiness of the inward part will lead to outward beauty of your heart. Holiness is the natural result of intimate relationship with Christ.
We are to please Him at all times with what we do, think and say. We are to recognise His headship, acquainting and appreciating Him. Holiness can only be experienced at the feet of Christ in prayer and worship. We are called to holiness because we are chosen, dedicated and set apart and consecrated. 1 Peter 2:9. We are His children John 1:12. We are His temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. We are members of His body. 1 Corinthians 12:27.
Isaiah could not withstand the presence of God neither could Peter and had to repent in conviction before Him. We need to have the encounter before we can submit and obey Him totally. Without holiness, we have no authority and cannot attract disciples. Be ye holy for God is holy. This is the cry of the seraphims?
