10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.l.
Today’s Inspiration: The commands of the Lord are more precious than gold than much pure gold; sweeter than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is a great reward. Psalm 19:10-11.
In order to spiritually grow, we need to meditate on the words of the Lord and allow the Holy spirit to convict our hearts. Without meditation of the Lord, we cannot please God for by them we take heed and have self– control. Our life must be governed by the word of God. There are 66 books in the Bible where commands are laid out by the various writers who write under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by which we live our life through edification, exhortation and comfort and not by condemnation, criticism and judgementalism.
Life is not about living for ourselves and our family but also for the community. As Moses says there should not be any poor among us. We shall help those in need so that all be well with us and our descendants.
Life is not a bed of roses. We never know when we need each other for riches are not forever. As Job says, God gives, God takes away. Job 1:20. In good times or bad times we still praise the Lord. Hit with the greatest calamity in the world of losing his wealth, health, and all his children, suddenly and unplanned, Job was still able to praise the Lord. V 21. King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 7:14 that even in bad times, we need to ponder for God had made good times and bad times so that man cannot fathom or plan his future. Our life is already destined by the Lord even before the foundation of the world. Psalm 139:16. Life is already planned for us before we are born. Life cannot be planned but to allow the Lord to lead the way and along the way, we contemplate our life against the commandments of the Lord to see if there are any offensive ways in us that requires alignment with His agenda for us and allow him to lead us in an everlasting way. Psalm 139:24.
God already knows our hearts and can even perceive our thoughts from a distance. He knows our going out and coming in. He can discern our thoughts and are familiar with all our ways. Psalm 139:1-3. Where can you go from His spirit and where can you flee from His presence? V7. He created your inmost being, He knit you together in your mother’s womb. V13.
In life, a lot of suddenlies will come. Many events happen to us that are out of our plans. Whatever our plans maybe, we need to commit them to the Lord. Proverbs 16:3.
All the calamities we suffer cannot compare to Job’s. No calamity not even Job’s can parallel Christ’s suffering unto death on the cross for our sins and that of the world, that we might be reconciled to God. Job had painful sores from the painful soles of his feet to the top of his head. His sufferings were beyond cure so that his wife told him to curse God and die. Job 2:7-9. Job rebuked her for not having reverence to the Lord and chided her with a question: ‘Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?’ Job’s friends said his sores were so severe that they could not recognise him from a distance. V12.
Whatever your circumstances maybe, take heart that the Lord will fulfill His purpose for you and will not abandon the works of your hands Psalm 138:7-8 and He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
