1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
Today’s Inspiration: Psalm 139:1-3 God searches our hearts every second and know every inch of our heart and our thoughts. He even comprehend the route we take and are acquainted with all our ways, even watching over our coming in and going out. We cannot even hide our secret sins or thoughts even our every idle word or fruitful word we speak. V4-6. David’s sins was exposed and he was shocked to the core filled with awe that even his secret sins can be exposed by God. Indeed, as he wrote, ‘we cannot go from His spirit nor flee from His presence.’ V7. Jonah when commissioned, tried to ignore the call for Nineveh and fled from his country and boarded the ship heading for Tarkish. God caught up with him and organised for him to be thrown into deep oceans after creating a storm and prepared a fish to swallow him up but not to kill him. In desperation, he cried to the Lord and was delivered to carry out his mission. Jonah 2:1-4, 7. This is a great lesson for us to ignore His call.
We can never turn away from His calling. In a majority of cases I counseled, I have found that most of their problems were attributed to their failure to abide to His calling or answer the call or serve Him with much reluctance. Till they respond whole-heartedly, they could not resolve their domestic problems. Jonah was one man who never learnt his lesson. He was more concerned of his own comfort than the salvation of the city of Nineveh. Jonah 4:10-11.
What is God speaking to you today on your calling? Are you so concerned of self, vocation or other agenda that you felt you cannot serve Him till all your problems are resolved? God is speaking of your faith. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, so why do you fear? Mark 11:23. You can have what you declare and believe.
When you perform God’s agenda, He will send angels to help with your problems. Jesus spoke to the disciples to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything they needed will be added unto them. Matthew 6:33.
Righteousness starts with faith. Abraham was credited righteous by his faith in every challenge he confronted with and was tested and God gave a covenant of blessings and multiplication. God does not want us to rely on our own nature but on the spirit of God who was given to us. If you rely on the spirit of God, your faith will be extraordinary and all that you do that gives God the glory will be a success.
If we have faith to believe that the spirit of Jesus lives in us after He has redeemed us of our sins, what is so difficult to trust Him totally to walk by faith and not by sight. If we are Abraham’s seed, and know in our heart that as Abraham’s seed, we are inheritor of His blessings, we should also inherit His faith in double measure. Faith is a gift as well as a true treasure of the treasures of His glory that we need to walk with Him to bear fruit.
May you take a step of faith to obey His voice today! Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22. God be praised!
