24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Today’s Inspiration: Why do our problems keep recurring? We try our best to develop and maintain good relationships but each time fear and insecurity of our past have entered our thoughts as strongholds without our knowledge and we keep battling the same problems over and over again wherever we go. Though we blame the devil many times as well as others, the problem lies with our thoughts which have become a fortress of past failures, unresolved conflicting relationships, fear, insecurity and inadequacy. This is why Apostle Paul keeps telling us to crucify our flesh. Those who belong to Christ must crucify their sinful nature with it’s passions and desires. Galatians 5:24. Since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit. V25. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. V26.
The flesh and it’s cluster of sinful nature always cling to us for dear life. Instead, we should submit to the power of the cross and stay crucified. Flesh always hinders us from getting out of control and from obeying God. Without daily crucifying of our flesh, we give the devil the opportunity to ensnare us or tempt us to sin.
Therefore it is not one sinner’s prayer that keeps us forever saved. God wants us to confess our sins and continuous wrong reactions caused by our heart sins and to keep doing right especially be good and at peace to all men. Hence salvation is a continuing process of sanctification but our sinful nature keep us out of self control all the time.
Once crucified, we need to be embedded with the word of God through our daily devotion and at the same time take responsibility over our fleshy nature to avoid the land mines set by the host of demons and evil spirit which continually use our flesh to stop the purposes of God. This is the fortress of strongholds embedded in our thoughts that we have to tear down. Jeremiah 1:10 to bar the enemy from continuously entering.
We reap what we sow. If we keep reacting to please our sinful nature and desires, we will reap destruction. We should please the spirit to reap eternal life. Galatians 6:8. It is not man who failed us but the enemy who comes into our fleshy thoughts causing us to react wrongly all the time that failed us. The strategy of the enemy is to keep reminding us of our sinful behaviors and attitudes on us like fear and insecurity especially to prevent us from entering into God’s covenant plan for us. These self-destructive thoughtful patterns endanger and ruin our Life and our family.
So live by the spirit so that you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature brought down from generations which must be halted at the cross. Galatians 5:16. God be praised.
