1 “When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,
2 and when the Lord your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.
Today’s Inspiration: Conquering the enemies of our soul is so vital to live an abundant and righteous life God requires of us. Moses told the Israelites that they will conquer the seven deadly enemies that are hindering them from their advancement in Deuteronomy 7:1-2. These enemies are the ones that have caused their heart to falter that have become the ingrained habits that seemed invincible like the global Wuhan coronavirus the world’s health institutions are trying to arrest now. Only God can empower us to conquer these deadly enemies planted by Satan.
Whatever had happened to us or the virus that the world is fighting are indicators of spiritual bankruptcy. When we look from human perspective, they are invincible but when we look at the God of Justice and righteousness, who performed miracles, there is nothing to fear but to cooperate with Him and to be willing to surrender our life under His control. The world including believers are always focusing on material and physical needs without looking at the spiritual needs, many a time to our detriment.
We need to be aware of Spiritual needs to show that God through Christ is working in us. God has given each of us a measure of faith as in Romans 12:3 to trust Him. Even in Luke 17:6 we can command every disease to move away from us, it will even with faith as small as a mustard seed. Mark 11:24, Luke 17:6. With God all things are possible. Luke 1:37. It’s all about our faith and belief.
Jesus is daily performing miracles for us. Matthew 14:13-21 Christ’s miracle of feeding the multitudes is unique as all four Gospel writers highlight it, showing its importance. Even the disciples were wondering how God is going to perform this Miracle. Jesus demonstrates to His disciples that His authority transcends human thinking by this Miracle. He was testing their faith when He asked Phillip how the multitudes could be fed. He was illustrating to them that true faith must depend on Divine resources as man’s efforts are futile. Psalm 94:11. Without faith the substance in hand is of no use. Heb 11:1.
Faith must be added to the substance for Miraculous results. Hebrews 11:1. To attract Miracles, we need to look beyond human understanding. It takes act of creative power to perform miracles. By creating such miracles, Jesus revealed proof of His deity.
If we have faith to believe that the spirit of Jesus lives in us after He has redeemed us of our sins, what is so difficult to trust Him totally to walk by faith and not by sight. If we are Abraham’s seed, and know in our heart that as Abraham’s seed, we are inheritor of His blessings, we should also inherit His faith in double measure. Faith is a gift as well as a true treasure of the treasures of His glory that we need to walk with Him to bear fruit.
May you take a step of faith to obey His voice today! Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22. God be praised!
