1 Corinthians 3:16
16 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Today’s Inspiration: The Lord’s instructions to Moses was to make the lamps of the tabernacle burn continually with pure oil of pressed olives. The priest Aaron shall be in charge of the lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord continually. Leviticus 24:1-4. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 3:16. All the more it should be lit continually. When we do so, darkness will not overtake us. We must light our temple with the word of God daily so that we will have a pure unblemished heart that self- control will follow us so that we will not waver even when the earth may shake and there are violent tempest facing us. The five foolish virgins were not mindful to trim their lamps and ensure their lamps are lit continually. Matthew 25:1-13.
When we are consistent with spiritual discipline of meditating the word daily, we are ready in season and out of season to resist the enemy with a timely word that will cause them to surrender or a timely word of comfort or exhortation to offer. The light of God’s word enlighten any darkness. We need to be filled with freshness everyday sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Trimming our lamps is talking about ensuring that we approach every problem with the right behaviour and attitude. Words can wound and even kill. We ought to examine our heart before we speak. We need to be a good listener before we can be a good conversationalist.
Apostle Paul warns us about the sin of slandering. David also warned us in Psalm 102:5 that whoever secretly slanders his neighbour, Him he will destroy. The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart Him he will not endure. Only those who walk in a perfect way serve Him. V6. God will not tolerate deceit nor lies in His house. V7.
David reminded us that we need to know the Lord is Good. It is He who made us and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. We need to take heed of His voice. Psalm 100:2.
Man are prone to wonder and worry. Worry is in fact one of the besetting sins of Christ followers. His discipleship is demanding. To obey the call is to trust Christ completely. We must not have an anxious heart as it weighs us down. Proverbs 12:25. It is normal for us to be assured in our heart that He will look after us but our heart tends to wander and doubt. Physically this is so. People get ulcers not so much from what they eat as from what eats them. Anxiety does steal our emotional peace and ruins our spiritual assurance. Worry is futile. It shortens our life. Anxiety denies the care of God. To be absorbed with physical and personal needs is ultimately to be captured by unbelief. Our life should be different from the pagans. Only the pagans worry. Worry is the product of inadequate understanding of who our Heavenly Father is. Only the Kingdom is worthy of our concern. Seek Him, His righteousness and the Kingdom and all things be added to you. Matthew 6:33. Its time to mature and be a pillar. Do not remain a living stone forever.
It’s time to enlarge your tent and not to worry. God will turn your barrenness to fruitfulness. Isaiah 54:2-3. Trust the Lord with your whole heart not only with your mind. Proverbs 3:5.
