6 Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands?
Today’s Inspiration: When King Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes 5:6 not to let our mouth cause our flesh to sin nor be filled with remorse later for rashful speaking, there is a deeper Revelation to this. As human beings, we are very quick to speak rather than quick to listen. This is why Apostle James cautioned us in James 1:19 to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.
King Solomon also cautioned us to let our words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2. We are not to speak hastily. When we speak before man, God is listening. Worse still if we speak and murmur against authority of God. Therefore let us not be rash in our mouth. David also realized the dangers of our tongue as much as Apostle James does when he asked God to guard the door of his lips. Apostle James wrote a whole chapter on taming of the tongue in chapter 3.
Our tongue is so powerful that it can either speak life or death to our body. Proverbs 18:21. Our mouth is created to bless God not curse. Every cursed word takes effect more quickly than a kind word. Men are prone to wonder and quick to react in anger. This is why there are so many heart and blood diseases today. This is the outcome of an angry spirit. It’s uncontrollable. We tend to blare out to satisfy our ego only to regret later when faced with consequences of anger. This is why we must guard our mouth and ensures it does not entice the flesh to sin. Most of covid-19 death are caused by underlying heart diseases.
King Solomon cautioned us not to be swift in being angry for anger rests in the bosom of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9. Anger comes out of a prideful Spirit. Therefore curb pride and take on a patient spirit (Ecclesiastes 7:8) which comes out of love for our God who is Love is patient and kind and not easily take on offenses. A loving spirit is the first fruit of the spirit and to attain the full fruit it must be proven through our ability to have self control, the last fruit of the spirit. Love and self control are therefore the most important keys to a godly abundant Life.
Family wholeness has always been in the heart of God through communication from a loving spirit starting with the parents. Hence covid-19 is a strategy of God to cause wholeness in the family first before family of Christ can become a complete whole. Today the family of Christ is far from impactful because they have not set themselves apart for God’s work of redemption to the whole wide world through being a vessel of honor with love from a pure heart.
Is God heading for a micro church in the family in the midst of these global struggles? Let’s reflect and give God all the honor and glory for what He is about to do. God be praised.
