19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
Today’s Inspiration: As you read the Bible, you need to understand what God is speaking. Man always look into the natural. Being a spirit man we must look into the spiritual. Man look at signs without discerning and understanding the times we are in. Jesus always look at the heart attitude of people. He told them that if the temple is destroyed, He will raise them up in three days. In man’s mind they look at the literal temple. Jesus was actually saying even if man were to crucify Him, He will be raised up in three days. The Jews wondered why a temple which was built in 46 years can be raised in three days and mocked at Him. He was actually teaching that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. John 2:19-21. The disciples too could not understand until he was crucified and resurrected in three days. V21-22.
We can therefore not read the Bible in the context of our natural understanding but on spiritual understanding.
Apostle Paul reinforced this teaching in 1 Corinthians 6:19 on our body being the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus always speaks in parables but to the disciples, He brings them into deep understanding. As you read the Bible, you must allow God to reveal His thoughts and don’t reason. Walking by faith is not looking on the external and reason in your heart. Natural understanding will not fulfill your destiny in God. You need to go deeper. Man looks at outer appearance, God looks at the heart. When God called Moses He gave specific instructions to deliver the Israelites out of bondage. He did not call him for anything else other than being a deliverer. Exodus 3:14-21. Today we want to do everything for God and do not follow His call and His instructions for His call. We want to do everything for God. Your ways are never God’s ways. Isaiah 55:8.
We serve Him in the flesh instead of in the spirit. If you serve in the flesh, you are doing dead works and Jesus said to depart from Him. You must serve Him in the spirit and be clear what He wants you to do. We need to serve in the spirits bringing them to a resurrected life. There must be the purpose of God in our life and everything we do so that we will bear fruit and reproduce disciples. God will use our wealth of experience for our ministry.
