1 “Listen, O coastlands, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The Lord has called Me from the womb; from the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me,
And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”
Today’s Inspiration: God has called you from the mother’s womb and had made your mouth like a sharp sword. In the shadows of His hand He has hidden you and made you a polished shaft. Isaiah 49:1-2. However today even the Body of Christ has negligently used their mouths to provoke their loved ones and others within their sphere of influence to anger or carelessly slandered others. With this new year 5780 and carrying forward to 2020 which is the year of the mouth, like Isaiah 6, He is going to cleanse the mouth especially of the Body of Christ. 2020 is going to be a purifying year. He is testing you in the furnace of affliction so that when the enemy emerged, he has absolutely nothing in common with you and you are able to withstand the fire like the 3 Hebrew boys in Daniel 3.
If we allowed God to purify us, whatever comes at us have no effect. Even Daniel could not be touched despite thrown into the Lions’ den. All fears are gone if you submit to God and be prayerfully watchful. Refining is good for our soul and it is for God’s glory and for your protection against the enemy that you be tested.
For all of us, something within us needs to die to be purified so that you can withstand what is coming in the next season.
Look at the power of our mouth from the life of Elijah who declared that there be no rain except by his word. 1 Kings 17:1. it came to pass. How powerful can our mouth be! What we utter must line up with God’s word.
In order to win the hidden generation of late 20s to 40s we have to watch how we speak and our walk with God as there is going to be a mass release of breakthrough for this generation emerging and equipping for public spotlight and developing to Christian leaders. It’s also the year to return joy to the palmist who have been under attack for past decade.
Throughout the Bible God is purifying the door of our lips like what David prayed. Psalm 141:3. Our tongue is responsible for the life and death of things in our life including our life. Proverbs 18:21. It’s time to repent for our negligent words in the last decade and make covenant with God and our mouth to think before we speak and to guard our hearts before we speak as well as to speak edifying words that bring health to the community in this coming decade. Proverbs 14:30 A sound heart is life to the body and envy rots the bones. Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of Life but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
If you feel your ways are right, remember the Lord is the one who weighs the spirits. Proverbs 16:2. Therefore it is good to commit ourselves and our ministry or our vocation to the Lord so that all will be well with us. Proverbs 16:3. Let’s be watchful with our tongue this year and speak the oracles of God. God be praised!
