Our thought life is the one that always destroys us. Before we speak, we must first control our thoughts. It is a simple procedure, but it is the most difficult ones to discipline in our life. The enemy knows that and his strongest strategy is to bombard our minds with evil thoughts of doubt, fear and discouragement (the enemy’s strongest tools). He wants to prevent us from receiving all that God has in store for us.
Thoughts are the seeds planted in the garden of one’s mind. We need to be good stewards and sow good thoughts in order to reap the full harvest of what God intends for us to have according to the word of God which is, living, and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NASB VERSION).
The Word of God (the Bible) is meant to put good thoughts in your mind but the enemy (your childhood past and all your failures) keep putting negative thoughts inside of you. Your success and failure depends on your thought life and what you say to yourself. When your spirit is full of God’s word, your soul (mind, will and emotions) is uplifted and hopeful, your body automatically becomes healthy. Remember the familiar song “It is well with my soul”. It is a victory song for your health. When your soul is healthy your body is healthy.
When you are diagnosed with Cancer, what is in your thoughts? A death sentence or an experience… a learning experience of getting back to relationship with God your Creator that you can restore the broken relationships with men especially your loved ones. Cancer is a deep wound but the Word of God penetrates deeper moving from cell to cell with the Words of Healing to repair them and made you well. “… that we having died to sins might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24). For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (verse 25).
Your help is from Him! Hosea 13:9.
When I was asked to go for bone marrow test on 3rd October, I reasoned within myself that God will not allow me to bear beyond what I can bear. So I prayed this prayer and what an amazing God we serve! He came with His word in Ps 94:9 “He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to read the story of a Cananite woman asking Jesus to have mercy on her daughter who is severely demon-possessed. But Jesus did not answer a word so his disciples asked Jesus for permission to send her away. So he answered her and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. In v25 she persisted with her appeal and in v26 Jesus said “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” V27 in her wisdom she answered that even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their master’s table.
Jesus honours her faith and said “Let it be to you as you desire.” She believed and her daughter was healed from that very hour even though her daughter was not present. Distance is never a problem for God to heal. To God be the glory!
What are the lessons we can learn from this story?
She seems to be rejected and denied access to Christ’s power. Her faith is tested by silence and then by His discouraging reply but it was necessary, for Jesus was showing to the crowd the necessity of strong faith to follow Him and receive the benefits of discipleship. Her faith earns His highest praise and enabled her to access to the grace of God for fulfilment of her desire. God is pleased with a vessel like this – the power of thoughts and belief with all our heart. (Proverbs 3:5). Her soul was strengthened. Why did she have so much faith? Her faith was built on the hope of good things to come. She has heard of Christ’s power and has seen His power in healing others and casting out demons. Her unparalleled trust in Him proves that is not blood lineage that identifies us as God’s children but our faith itself. Galatians 6:16 “And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them and upon the Israel of God. She became a Spiritual Israelite through belief and conviction. The strength of her faith is manifested in what she overcame not the physical obstacles but mental emotional barriers. It is also her belief. When Jesus says her daughter is healed, she returned with this word in confidence that her daughter is healed. Only our shield of faith can quench the fiery darts of the enemy. Ephesians 6:16.
She faced three rebuffs – she was discouraged by the disciples in verse 23, she was deprived of her position in v26 and deprived of opportunities in v28. Sometimes our prayer is delayed because God was testing the strength of our faith. Delay in answering our prayers is to strengthen our faith and to be more fervent in the spirit. God knows we need more faith if He is to use us more mightily than the present. He rewards persistent faith that includes assurance of hope. (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith overcomes personal trials. 1 John 5:4-5 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? John 14:6 “He is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Him. “
Ps 138:7 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will answer me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies and Your right hand will save me.” Enforce the victory of the cross. Luke 17:6 “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you will say to the mulberry tree, be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea and it would obey you.”
There is power in the Word planted in your thoughts.
Matthew 15:13 Any plant that is not planted by God will be uprooted by the roots. Do you have any adversity that needs to be uprooted – Cancer tumours, financial debts, diabetes, heart diseases, fever that doesn’t seem to go? Speak to them now to be cast out and it shall be obey you. Receive your good health today! Cancer is an experience….
When I woke up next morning the doctors told me that he knows my fears and have decided to send me for a pet-scan of my whole body. Much to every one’s amazement and rejoicing that God is a miracle God, the pet-scan shows that much of the lymph nodes that were there disappeared and the report turns out to be way beyond their expectation. There is power in our thoughts. Suddenly strength came back to me and I was discharged the next day.
Ps 118:6 The right hand of the Lord is exalted. The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
Today February 23rd, 2018 my blood count is 16.9 way above my comprehension. At my discharge it was only 8. I was admitted to hospital with 4.9 haemaglobin and had to have a blood transfusion. The doctors says now I have a lot of blood cells. Positive thoughts bring forth healing. I experienced it and my prayer is that you will experience healing too by confessing positive thoughts and believe what you say. “You will declare a thing and it will be established for you so light will shine on your ways. (Job 22:28) Let God’s word cut off your adversity today!
